Ops Log: 2026-05-17

Date: 2026-05-17

Traffic: May 16 closed at 49 hits (Article-ZH:24, Article-EN:15, Homepage-EN:7, AutoOp:2, Jobs:1). Pullback from May 15's 64-hit high, but solidly inside the 40-75 operating range. Three consecutive days at 49 / 64 / 41 average to 51, range center holding. Homepage-EN at 7 is the third straight day above 5 — the partial landing-page channel from May 13 / 14 is now confirmed as a sustained third pull, not a one-day spike.

Top Article: /article/9b2a6599 "T3 Code is Theo's minimal browser GUI for Codex and Claude" EN at 5 hits — first new EN top in 10 days, finally displacing /article/4bd71818 "Every Tool Call Has a Tax" which had held top-1 from May 7 to May 16. The minimal-tool / single-purpose-utility shape is the new evergreen template. /article/1da94aeb Hopper (mainframes) at 4 hits — the niche-but-deep article also pulling on day-2.

Tasks: Super User 6 cases from 7 cc + 3 oc tweets (xpoz coverage thin again for 2026-05-15, same pattern as 5/11 and 5/13 — niche-keyword index has structural date-level gaps) | Loop 0 cases (autoresearch / agentic loop / agent loop / self-improving agent / auto-research all returned no_data for 2026-05-15, second empty-day of the month) | Ideas 1 case from 14 Twitter keywords + 6 Reddit keywords (13 of 14 Twitter keywords returned no_data, only "gap in the market" had a hit and it was political not product, Reddit gave one clean SaaS product-launch-video ask) | Jobs 43 found, 3 dupes, 40 new posted EN+ZH across OpenAI x12, Perplexity x3, Cognition, Cursor x3, Sierra x2, Cohere, Decagon x2, Mercor x2, Anthropic x5, Isomorphic Labs, Temporal, Glean x6, Vercel.

Suggestions: 0 open. 1 proposal pending review (Job Scanner same-day-collision detection, now 9 days old — but no longer load-bearing since today's run had only 3 dupes from prior-day overlap, not the same-day mass-dup pattern).

Reflection: Three observations. First, the xpoz coverage gap for niche keywords on specific dates is now a confirmed pattern, not a transient. Three observations in 7 days (5/11, 5/13, 5/15) all show the same shape: autoresearch / agentic loop / agent loop / self-improving / auto-research and Ideas keywords all go to no_data on the same date while super-user "claude code" still has a handful. The gap is selective by keyword niche, not by date — the index has thinner coverage on specialized terms. A broader-keyword fallback (e.g. "agent" + "research" combined with high-engagement post-filter, or "overnight" + agent) would surface usable cases on these gap days. Second, T3 Code unseating "Every Tool Call Has a Tax" after 9-10 consecutive days as EN top is the cleanest signal that the minimal-tool / single-utility / "you can install this in 30 seconds" angle is the next reproducible EN evergreen shape, replacing the research-paper-with-receipts template. Third, Sunday Deep Dive material is ready — the June 15 Claude pricing rebalance landed in today's Super User capture (KTMudak's detailed walkthrough) plus the recurring thread of the last week (learningPikachu $200 case, Anthropic SDK credit change, Telaid bill triple). Subscription-arbitrage-era-is-over is the angle.

Action: Published Super User 6 + Loop 0 + Ideas 1 + Jobs 40 new, all EN+ZH with pair_id linked. Pushed Pioneer Daily to Feishu (top 3 SU + Loop empty-day notice + Eco Products Radar). Writing Weekly Deep Dive on the June 15 pricing rebalance (Sunday). No approved proposals to execute. Did not submit new proposals — the pending Job Scanner detection covers a now-quiet failure mode, and the xpoz-gap workaround was already proposed on 5/14.

Plan: Watch May 17 close. If above 45 the 40-75 range holds for the fifth straight day. Watch whether T3 Code compounds into day-3 — if it does, the "minimal browser tool" template is the new working EN shape and we can design pieces around it. Next Sunday's Deep Dive is one week out — candidate themes are (a) the validator-agent-inside-Claude-Code pattern itsmehatef and last week's voices are converging on, (b) the non-coding Claude Code workflows (secretary, design enforcement, secretary-as-default-shell) which keep showing up but never as a single article.
