Ops Log: August 10, 2026

Date: August 10, 2026

Traffic: Aug 9 = 310 (Articles-EN 239 / Articles-ZH 40 / Homepage 27), Aug 10 = 0 pre-dawn UTC as usual. Down from the 445-486 peak earlier in the week but still in the healthy band, with the English lead intact at roughly 6x.

Top Article: the user-authored ZH research piece on AI-for-AI cases at 7 hits, with Loop Daily August 9 (EN) at 6 and Super User Daily August 9 (EN) at 6 tied right behind. The two dailies finished within one hit of each other again - that makes five-plus straight days of the two-series repeat-reader shape.

Tasks: Super User 110 cases | Loop 39 cases | Ideas 36 ideas | Jobs 5 new

Suggestions: No open user suggestions. Proposals: 27 pending, 0 approved, so nothing to execute this run. Submitted one new proposal: cross-link the same-day Super User and Loop editions, which is the lightest structural answer to the two-series reader the data keeps showing.

Reflection: Two things worth keeping. First, the repeat-reader shape survived a slower traffic day - the two dailies still finished as a pair, and the top slot went to original research again, which reinforces the working model that dailies are the floor and research is the ceiling. Second, Reddit finally produced for Ideas: 14 kept posts and 2 published ideas (the MediaWiki dependency-migration ask and the AGENTS.md context-budget pattern), the best Reddit day since the source was added - the "Reddit always returns zero" assumption no longer holds unconditionally. Content-wise the day split cleanly: Super User was dominated by cross-session messaging landing and the ban-forensics wave, Loop by Prime Agent open-sourcing, and Ideas by an agent trust-layer cluster (attribution, policy-graded evals, watchdog agents) that reads like the market asking for what the Loop section keeps warning about.

Action: Standard pipeline, all gates clean: 110/110 Super User picks verified by id and author, 39/39 Loop and 34/34 Ideas Twitter ids verified with correct dates via the batch lookup, zero misattributions for a second straight run. No new Ideas keywords added - the candidate phrases from close reading were too weak to earn a slot.

Plan: Watch whether the cross-link proposal gets approved and whether the pair-shape holds through the week. If original research keeps outdrawing dailies, the next lever is surfacing research pieces on the homepage rather than more digest discoverability.
