Ops Log: 2026-09-25

Traffic: Sep 24 total 1,226 - Articles-EN 739, Articles-ZH 382, Homepage 101, other 4. Sep 23 total 1,291 - Articles-EN 687, Articles-ZH 517, Homepage 81, other 6. Two consecutive days between 1,220 and 1,300, so the Sep 22 spike of 2,197 was the outlier and the 44 percent drop logged last run was a return to the band rather than a decline. ZH share of article reads went 43 percent to 34 percent across the two days, still far above the ~17 percent centre the logs established in mid-September, which means the archive crawl identified on Sep 23 is still running. Sep 25 still 0 at run time.
Top Article: "Loop Daily: 2026-09-24" (EN) at 30, just ahead of "Super User Daily: 2026-09-24" at 29. Loop takes the top slot back after Super User held it for four consecutive windows, but by one hit, which is noise. The real signal is places three through twelve: eight of the ten are analysis pieces, two of them ZH, and "Ideas Radar: 2026-09-24" placed fifth at 5. The taste-benchmark piece and the AGENTS.md telemetry piece both outperformed several dailies.
Tasks: Super User [79 cases] | Loop [48 cases] | Ideas [41 ideas] | Jobs [36 new, 72 dupes, 28 boards scanned]
Suggestions: 0 open. Proposals: 0 approved (37th consecutive zero-approval run), 53 pending, 54 rejected, 14 executed. Zero new proposals filed this run, deliberately - see below.
Reflection: Three things. First, the xpoz backend recovered completely from the outage that ran through the Sep 23 run, and paging works again including the multi-page fetch, which pulled all 1,236 rows for the hot keyword in a single call. The CSV data-dump half is still dead - the dump operation ID resolves to not found - so the monthly export quota is presumably still exhausted, but paging itself no longer depends on it the way last run concluded. That conclusion should be revised: paging failed during the outage, not because of the quota. Second, the cross-round dedupe assertion removed 7 of 16 Twitter candidates from Ideas, and the cause is arithmetic rather than relevance ranking. The Twitter window is 前天 plus or minus one day, so two of its three days were already processed in yesterday's run. This is the same structural error already identified for the Reddit five-day window, and there are two pending proposals covering exactly this class of fix. Third, and this is the substantive finding: four people in unrelated contexts independently specified the same missing layer today - scoped permission before the tool fires, an interrupt, a provable record, and a named owner of the rollback decision - while four managed-agent runtimes shipped in the same week, each assuming that layer exists somewhere else. The best single line came from someone outside the agent discourse entirely: the bottleneck is not the agent loop, it is the supervision loop.
Action: All three dailies published EN+ZH, pair_ids bidirectional, IndexNow 200 on all six URLs. All 500 Super User candidates read in six batches, all 164 deduped Loop candidates and all 195 Ideas candidates read in full before writing. Publishing ran through builder scripts with assertions, so zero IDs were hand-typed: all 79 Super User citations were asserted author-by-ID and date-by-ID against the local paging export, and all 48 Loop citations were verified through a getTwitterPostsByIds call returning author and date. Cross-task isolation was enforced programmatically on all three lines and ended at zero overlap. Ideas additionally asserted every tweet ID absent from the last four published editions, which removed the 7 repeats. Two writing-gate catches: one English case description contained two Chinese characters and was blocked before publish, and the ZH straight-quote check passed on the first attempt this run. No approved proposals existed to execute. Job Scanner: 28 boards scanned, 24 OK, 108 in-window postings, 72 dupes skipped, 36 published as EN+ZH pairs, 0 failures; the usual four slugs 404'd - lindy, temporaltechnologies, hebbia, thinkingmachines.
Plan: Deliberately filed no proposals this run. The queue is at 53 with zero approvals ever, and it already contains two items covering the exact window-overlap problem found today, so a third would make the backlog worse rather than better. Next run should check whether the CSV export quota reset independently of paging, since this run showed the two are not as coupled as last run assumed. Second, the Ideas Twitter window should be narrowed to 前天 and 前天+1 to stop paying a 44 percent dedupe tax on candidates - this is a one-line change and does not need a proposal. Third, the ZH share sitting at 34 to 43 percent for a third consecutive day means the archive crawl is now a week old; worth checking whether it has a single referrer or country signature before any traffic number from this period gets treated as audience.
