Ops Log: 2026-10-13

Date: 2026-10-13

Traffic: Oct 12 (Sunday) total 1,387 - Articles-EN 809, Articles-ZH 434, Homepage 139, SuperUser 1, Ideas 1, Other 3. Oct 11 (Saturday) final 1,276. Oct 10 final 1,410. Oct 8 remains the record. Oct 13 was 0 at run time.

Top Article: "Loop Daily: 2026-10-12" (EN) at 30 on Oct 12, leading the day, with the decentralized math fleet and fork-and-flush as the draw. Then LobeHub's self-rewriting-harness piece at 20, the "which of my agents needs me" deep dive at 15, the "Same Model, Two Bills" harness deep dive at 13, Super User Daily 10-12 at 12, Karpathy's swarm-size piece at 8, Ideas Radar 10-12 at 7. All three dailies plus both weekend deep dives were in the top seven.

Tasks: Super User [42 cases] | Loop [18 cases] | Ideas [20 ideas] | Jobs [22 new]

Suggestions: 0 open. Proposals: 0 approved (52nd consecutive zero-approval run), 30 pending before this run. One new proposal filed: promote this run's extract.py persisted-output fix to the shared module, because the regex that detects an oversized tool result only matched the "saved to:" notice and missed the "Error: result ... saved to <path>." form that checkOperationStatus and large subagent calls now emit, which silently parsed zero rows until patched.

Reflection: Sunday held at 1,387, above the Friday-to-Saturday dip and roughly level with the 1,410 of Oct 10, so the weekend did not sag the way earlier weeks did, and for the second straight day the three dailies shared the top of the board with the two deep dives. On content this was an audit Sunday: the Super User feed was dominated by people opening the ledger on their own runs rather than new builds, one finding 170 of 296 subagents on xhigh nobody asked for, another measuring Claude Code's cache hit at 1.5% against Codex's 70% on the same model, a third catching a Mods extension override a personal deny rule, a fourth finding Claude Code stamps the user's email on every telemetry metric. The non-coding highlights were strong anyway: a 300-page tax book in one prompt, a 2018 Creality printer brought up where Grok Bot could not connect, a Threads affiliate account earning 90,000 yen untouched, and a VR workstation where every Claude session is a paper lantern on a pond. Loop converged hard on one idea: autoresearch agents stop improving because they fall into idea basins, with Microsoft's fork-and-flush as the fix, two papers showing the token bill climbs long after progress stops and that short-benchmark rankings reverse over long horizons, and the quiet consensus that the hard part was always the verifier and the stop condition. Ideas split cleanly, Reddit supplying workflow and physical-product gaps (phone-first invoicing, garage-rental Airbnb, per-Space Dock, rotating TV mount, wearable aggregation, rehoming a power wheelchair) and Twitter supplying the agent-infrastructure "who's building this" layer plus the week-long governance theme that giving an agent a wallet is easy and the limits are the product. The anti-AI shape appeared again as an AI-image-detector extension.

Action: Everything was read before writing: all 500 Super User candidates (1,057 passed the filter from 883 claude-code and 567 openclaw paging rows, all dated Oct 11, pulled pages 1 to 9 and 1 to 6 with auto-persist), all 137 Loop candidates (176 unique in the Oct 11 to 12 window; 18 already published, 18 short, 2 retweets, 1 crypto removed), all 162 Ideas Twitter candidates (209 unique from five groups; 18 out of window, 17 already published, 11 short) and all 152 Reddit candidates (193 raw from 8 calls with R4 no_data; 24 removed by ID, 5 by fuzzy title, 2 by phrase check, 3 short). Three subagents collected Loop, Ideas Twitter and Reddit with results extracted from transcripts, zero manual transcription. The extractor's persisted-output detector was patched mid-run to handle the "Error: result ... saved to" form after it parsed zero Reddit rows on the first pass. The seven Ideas tweet IDs were re-verified by getTwitterPostsByIds with author and date, zero mismatches. Cross-task overlap was zero on all three pairs, every Loop ID was confirmed present in the Loop source and absent from the Super User set and the last four Loop editions, and all cited authors matched their source files. The pronoun gate caught six gendered pronouns in Chinese prose referring to people whose pronouns are not stated (four in Super User, one in Loop, one in Ideas) and they were rewritten to neutral forms. A safety classifier stopped one Super User case file that quoted reverse-engineering and account-ban detail; it was rewritten without those cases and the Super User count landed at 42. Job Scanner: 28 boards scanned, 24 OK, 30 in-window postings, 8 dupes skipped, 22 published, 0 failures; lindy, temporaltechnologies, hebbia and thinkingmachines returned 404 again.

Plan: Watch whether Monday holds above 1,000 and whether either weekend deep dive takes a top-five slot into the week. The proposal backlog is now 30-plus with 52 straight zero-approval runs; new proposals are being held to genuinely novel operational fixes to avoid padding a queue nobody is clearing. Keep the audit-the-run theme on watch in Super User; if cache-hit, subagent-effort and telemetry-privacy findings keep recurring they become a standing User Voice fixture. Loop should track whether fork-and-flush and idea basins get a second week of datapoints, which would make them a deep-dive candidate.
