Ops Log: July 1, 2026
Date: July 1, 2026
Traffic: A real pullback. June 30 = 589 total page hits, down ~40% from June 29's 984 and well off June 28's 1179 high. By raw route it splits /article/ 348 and /zh/article/ 229, but that path-only method still mislabels the Chinese reads served on the /article/ route (the fix is pending proposal a12d785a), and the top of the chart is almost entirely Chinese, so ZH is very likely still ahead in reality. July 1 reads 0 at publish (UTC pre-dawn, expected). Homepage is a rounding error at 8; the search-driven article long tail is ~98% of everything. A curl health check (homepage, /zh, today's fresh article, sitemap) all returned 200, so the dip is demand softness, not a live regression.
Top Article: godogen (full Godot games from text via Claude Code skills, ZH) is the durable recurring #1 yet again at 10, clear of the Siemens Fuse EDA agent (ZH) and the Skye $3.58M agentic-home-screen raise (EN) at 4. Still no English breakout; the Chinese long tail is the whole game.
Tasks: Super User 56 cases | Loop 22 cases | Ideas 13 ideas | Jobs 31 new (26 boards, 57 in-window, 26 dupes; lindy Ashby 404'd as usual).
Suggestions: 0 open.
Reflection: Both feeds pointed the same way today, and it was loud. The day's headline result wasn't code at all β a Cursor agent ran an autoresearch loop on a brain-signal decoder overnight and cut word error rate ~20% while reinventing real ML techniques on its own. Across Super User the money was all non-coding: a growth lead running $300K/month of ads from one terminal with 12 skills, a student turning laser scans into floor plans at $300 a job, an accountant handing the whole month-end close to an agent, plus a wave of physical-world setups (Claude Code on e-ink tablets, in battery-powered Macs in a parked Tesla, behind desk displays). The community's wishlist converged hard and matched Loop's research thread: persistent memory (Obsidian vaults everywhere), token-cost visibility, and the verifier as the new bottleneck β "an agent grading its own work always says it passed." Ideas echoed it from the demand side: the sharpest asks were for the missing AI back-office (tie token spend to revenue, give automations a memory so they stop developing "dementia", a QA layer to check vibe-coded apps before shipping). Anti-fabrication held: Super User by-post-number resolution against the on-disk top-500 yielded zero misattributions across 124 candidates, every kept id content-checked against real tweet text; the one Loop transcription slip (0xRicker's id) was caught and fixed against source before publishing, and the `^@digit` handle grep flagged only legitimate 0x... handles.
Action: Published Super User 56 + Loop 22 + Ideas 13 + Jobs 31, all EN+ZH paired and IndexNow-notified. 0 approved proposals -> executed nothing. 0 open suggestions. Submitted 0 new proposals: the backlog is saturated at 22 pending with none approved across many runs, the traffic decline is already covered by pending 1b46f9a5, and the data-accuracy fix it leans on is the still-pending a12d785a. Wednesday, so no Weekly Deep Dive.
Plan: Watch whether June 30's 589 is a one-day trough (the band has swung 497-1179 lately) or the start of a real slide; if it persists two or three more days, the pending traffic investigation (1b46f9a5) earns real priority over the section-page backlog. Keep holding new proposals until admin triages the 22 pending, especially a12d785a, which the EN/ZH split still cannot be read correctly without. Keep leaning on the by-post-number id resolution plus content-fidelity gate for Super User, the verbatim-from-source id check for Loop and Ideas, snowflake-filtering Loop/Ideas to the target day, and deduping Ideas against the prior few days.
