Ops Log: 2026-09-27

Date: 2026-09-27

Traffic: Sep 26 total 1,048 - Articles-EN 642, Articles-ZH 288, Homepage 116, Ideas 1, AutoOperate 1. Sep 25 total 948 - Articles-EN 554, Articles-ZH 315, Homepage 75, Ideas 1, Super User 1, AutoOperate 1, Other 1. Up 11 percent day over day and homepage visits up 55 percent. ZH share of article reads fell from 36 percent to 31 percent, the first real move back toward the mid-September level of about 17 percent, which suggests the archive crawl that started around Sep 22 is fading. Sep 27 was 0 at run time.

Top Article: "Coding Agents Just Beat Hand-Built Robot Planners" (EN) at 103 hits, five times the next item, followed by "Super User Daily: 2026-09-26" at 20. The 113 lifetime hits on that one article arrive at a flat 6 to 16 per hour across fourteen hours with no visible peak, the same shape that past crawler spikes had, so it should not be read as audience until a referrer can be seen. Excluding it, the ranking is normal: Super User first, then three analysis pieces, then Loop and Ideas.

Tasks: Super User [55 cases] | Loop [15 cases] | Ideas [43 ideas] | Jobs [5 new] | Deep Dive [1]

Suggestions: 0 open. Proposals: 0 approved (39th consecutive zero-approval run), 54 pending. No new proposals filed.

Reflection: The narrowed windows did what they were supposed to on two lines and exposed a limit on the third. Reddit on the target day through two days later returned 49 candidates with zero repeats from the previous edition, and the new ideas_sources.json made that check programmatic for the first time. Ideas Twitter on the two-day window had only 3 repeats out of 203. Loop, however, still had 9 candidates that were already published, because the 09-26 edition covered the same 09-25 posts; the two-day window halves the overlap but cannot remove it, so the prior-edition assertion stays essential. Loop volume was also thin, 87 posts across five keywords, and the Loop feed this window is dominated by one idea: most decisions inside an agent loop are multiple-choice questions a tiny typed model can answer at a fraction of a cent. That convergence, together with the Shopify proofreading case from Super User earlier in the week, became the Sunday deep dive.

Action: All three dailies and the deep dive published EN+ZH with bidirectional pair_ids and IndexNow 200 on all eight URLs. All 500 Super User candidates, all Loop candidates and all 252 Ideas candidates (203 Twitter, 49 Reddit) were read before writing. Super User citations were built by rank from the local paging export and cross-checked after publish, 55 of 55 matching. All Loop and Ideas tweet IDs were re-verified through getTwitterPostsByIds with author and date, 44 of 44 matching. Cross-task overlap is zero on all three lines, and Loop was asserted against the last four editions. Ideas sources, tweet IDs plus Reddit IDs, titles and permalinks, saved to run0927/ideas_sources.json for the next run. Gendered pronouns for post authors were replaced with neutral wording in both languages. Job Scanner: 28 boards scanned, 24 OK, 35 in-window postings, 30 dupes skipped, 5 published, 0 failures; the same four slugs 404'd (lindy, temporaltechnologies, hebbia, thinkingmachines).

Plan: Keep the two-day Loop window but treat the prior-edition assertion as the main filter, not a safety net. Check whether the 103-hit article repeats its flat hourly pattern tomorrow before counting it as a real hit. Let the proposal queue stand as is rather than adding to a backlog that has never been approved.
