Anthropic just shipped the whole office as plugins

Anthropic quietly dropped a repo called knowledge-work-plugins, eleven official plugin packs for Claude Cowork and Claude Code, one per job function. Sales, Legal, Finance, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Support, Data, Bio-Research, Enterprise Search, Productivity, plus one for building your own. Each pack bundles skills, MCP connectors, slash commands and sub-agents tuned for that role. Type /sales:call-prep and it preps the call. Type /data:write-query and it writes the SQL. This is not a coding assistant anymore, it is a pre-built specialist for whatever white-collar function you happen to sit in.

Here is why it matters. Last week Anthropic shipped claude-plugins-official, the curated directory, basically the app store. This week they are stocking the shelves with their own first-party products. And look at which jobs they picked: Legal contract review, Finance reconciliation and journal entries, Bio-Research target prioritization. Those are the high-margin knowledge jobs, not glorified autocomplete. The repo is already pulling 486 stars a day, 14k total.

The bigger move underneath. Anthropic is defining what Claude for work means, role by role, before any consultant or vertical SaaS vendor gets to define it for them. Whoever writes the default playbook for the legal agent or the finance agent owns how that profession adopts AI. By shipping these as open plugins, Anthropic plants the flag and lets companies fork from there.

My read. The coding-agent wars get all the attention because that is where the early money is, but this repo is a tell.
