Nvidia Vera CPU — Purpose-Built Processor for Agentic AI

At GTC 2026, Nvidia unveiled the Vera CPU, its first processor designed specifically for agentic AI and reinforcement learning workloads. The chip features 88 custom-designed Olympus cores with Spatial Multithreading, delivering twice the efficiency and 50% more speed than traditional rack-scale CPUs.

Key specs include 1.2 TB/s memory bandwidth via LPDDR5X (double the bandwidth at half the power of general-purpose CPUs) and NVLink-C2C interconnect with 1.8 TB/s coherent bandwidth — 7x faster than PCIe Gen 6. A Vera CPU Rack configuration packs 256 liquid-cooled units sustaining 22,500+ concurrent CPU environments, purpose-built for running massive fleets of AI agent instances.

The chip is designed for the era where AI agents need dedicated compute — not GPU inference, but CPU environments for agent orchestration, tool execution, and real-world task management. Major adopters already announced include Alibaba, Meta, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Dell, HPE, and Lenovo.

Vera is in full production and will be available from partners in H2 2026.
