OpenSRE: The Open Source AI SRE

Tracer-Cloud's OpenSRE is trending today on GitHub at 1,398 stars and +257 daily. The pitch is short: open-source framework for AI agents that investigate and resolve production incidents, runs on your own infra. Public Alpha right now.

When an alert fires, OpenSRE pulls context from your observability stack, walks through logs and metrics, generates an investigation report with probable root causes, and can post to Slack/PagerDuty or execute remediations. It hooks into 40+ tools out of the box: Datadog, Grafana, Kubernetes, AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI.

The timing is perfect. Resolve AI just raised $40M at $1.5B for the proprietary version. PagerDuty acquired Sentinel last quarter. Every observability vendor is racing to ship an agent. OpenSRE is the bet that incident response should be open source, run inside your VPC, and not give your production telemetry to a third party.

This is the same pattern as MCP versus closed connectors a year ago: the open spec wins because nobody trusts a vendor with their incident data. Watch this category β€” open SRE is the agent vertical with the cleanest open-source thesis right now.
