Google AI Studio 2.0: Full-Stack Vibe Coding with Antigravity Agent and Firebase

Google transformed AI Studio into a full-stack vibe coding platform on March 19, 2026, integrating the new Antigravity coding agent with Firebase backends. The update turns Google AI Studio from a prototyping environment into a complete application development platform where users can go from prompt to deployed production app without leaving the browser.

The Antigravity coding agent plans entire projects, writes code across multiple files, runs tests in a built-in browser, and fixes its own errors autonomously. When apps need data storage or user authentication, the agent proactively detects this and offers to provision Firestore and Firebase Authentication with one-click setup.

Key capabilities include multiplayer real-time features, external library installation, Google Sign-In integration, and direct deployment to Google Cloud Run. The platform runs on Gemini 3 Flash (now the default model) and Gemini 3 Pro, with Imagen 4 for image generation and new Gemini 3.1 TTS models.

Google claims internal teams have built "hundreds of thousands of apps" using this system. The update positions AI Studio as a direct competitor to Replit Agent and Bolt.new, but with Google's infrastructure advantage — Firebase, Cloud Run, Maps, and the Gemini model family all integrated natively.
