Claude Dispatch: Text Claude from Your Phone, Come Back to Finished Work

Anthropic launched Dispatch for Claude Cowork on March 18, 2026 — a new feature that lets you text tasks to Claude from your phone while it works autonomously on your desktop computer.

Dispatch creates a persistent conversation with Claude that runs on your Mac or Windows PC. You pair your phone by scanning a QR code, then message Claude from anywhere. Claude can access your local files, browser, and tools to complete tasks — pull data from spreadsheets, search Slack and email, build presentations from Google Drive, or organize files. Everything runs in a sandboxed environment on your machine, with your files staying local.

The feature effectively turns Claude into a persistent background agent that you can dispatch work to remotely. It's currently available to Max subscribers in research preview, with Pro access coming within days.

This is a meaningful step toward the always-on agent paradigm: instead of sitting in front of a chat window, you give Claude a mission and come back to finished work.
