Linear Agent: Linear Declares 'Issue Tracking Is Dead' with AI Agent Launch
Linear has launched Linear Agent, a native AI agent built directly into its product development platform, declaring that traditional issue tracking is dead.
Announced on March 24, Linear Agent understands your roadmap, issues, and codebase. It's accessible everywhere β desktop app (Cmd/Ctrl + J), mobile, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. The agent can analyze user feedback, craft projects and issues, and execute actions within Linear's full product context.
Linear also introduced Skills (reusable workflows triggered via slash commands or automatically), Automations (starting with Triage, which triggers agent workflows when issues arrive), and Code Intelligence (coming soon, letting the agent understand and answer questions about codebases).
The numbers are striking: coding agents are already installed in over 75% of Linear's enterprise workspaces, agent-completed work volume has grown 5x in three months, and agents now author nearly 25% of new issues. Agent and Skills are included on all Linear plans.
