Perplexity Comet for iOS: Agentic AI Browser Arrives on iPhone

Perplexity has launched Comet, its agentic AI browser, on iOS and iPadOS — four months after its Android debut. Comet is described as a "browser for agentic search" that handles multi-step tasks with minimal user input, interpreting intent, gathering information from multiple sources, and performing chained actions autonomously.

Unlike traditional browsers, Comet has a built-in AI assistant that learns user habits, summarizes product reviews, answers follow-up questions about web pages, and supports voice interaction. It uses Perplexity's answer engine by default but integrates as a full browsing experience.

Comet originally launched at $200/month but is now available for free on iOS, with Pro and Max subscription tiers starting at $20/month. It requires iOS 18 or newer.

The launch was covered by MacRumors, 9to5Mac, and Business Standard on March 18-19, 2026. It's currently on Product Hunt with 121 upvotes.
