everything-claude-code Just Hit 178K Stars. The Harness Layer Has a Winner.
GitHub Trending today, position six, climbing fast. affaan-m/everything-claude-code — 178,042 stars, 27,503 forks, 1,011 stars added today, last commit yesterday. The repo was created January 18, four months ago. Do the math — about 1,500 stars a day every day since launch. Nothing else in the harness category is even close.
What it actually is: 48 specialized agents, 182 skills, 68 legacy command shims that work across Claude Code, Cursor, OpenCode, Codex, and Gemini CLI. TDD skills, security scanning, language-specific reviewers (TypeScript, Python, Go, Swift, PHP, Java, Kotlin, C++, Perl, Rust). Hooks for SessionStart and tool execution. Pre-wired MCP servers for GitHub, Supabase, Context7. Built by Affaan Mustafa, who won an Anthropic hackathon last year and has been pushing daily ever since.
v1.10.0 in early April was the structural release — surface refresh, operator workflows, and ECC 2.0 alpha. The 2.0 line is a Rust control-plane prototype with a daemon and session manager, plus a desktop dashboard GUI. He is rebuilding the harness from the inside out while the JavaScript edition keeps shipping monthly to the existing user base. ecc.tools is the marketing site.
Put this next to the other harness-category data points. addyosmani/agent-skills at 38K stars. shareAI-lab/learn-claude-code at 59K. mattpocock/skills, Flutter Skills, Karpathy skills, marketingskills. Each occupies a slice — production patterns, curriculum, framework-specific. ECC is the one trying to be all of them at once, and the star count says the bet is paying off.
The lesson sits one level up. Twelve months ago there was no harness layer — Claude Code shipped, you wrote your own CLAUDE.md, you figured it out. Now there is a stack. Skills, agents, hooks, rules, MCP servers, observability, billing, dashboards. ECC is a snapshot of that stack converging into something like an operating system for agentic coding. github.com/affaan-m/everything-claude-code.
