Marketing Skills just put a CMO in Claude Code

coreyhaines31/marketingskills hit 23.7K stars and 491 new stars today on GitHub trending. The pitch is simple: 40+ specialized Claude Code skills for conversion optimization, copywriting, SEO, paid ads, measurement, retention, growth engineering, sales ops, and overall strategy. v1.8.0 dropped April 21 with two new skills, security hardening, and a plugin fix.

It works on any Agent Skills-compatible runtime β€” Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf. The skills are structured instructions, templates, and tools the agent loads contextually. So instead of prompting Claude with 2000 words about how to write a landing page, you say run the landing-page-optimization skill and the agent pulls down the right scaffolding, checklist, and reference patterns. Effectively a marketing-team playbook in a git repo.

The meta shift here is worth noting. Six months ago the debate was whether agents should write code. Now agent skill libraries for non-engineering jobs are hitting 20K+ stars, which means founders and technical marketers are already running conversion reviews, SEO audits, and growth experiments through Claude Code. The repo is basically a CMO-in-a-box for solo operators and small teams.

This is the third skill-library repo to cross 20K stars in a month after VoltAgent/awesome-agent-skills and the vercel-labs/skills collection. Skills are clearly the right abstraction β€” small enough to version, specific enough to be useful, generic enough to share across tools. If you are still writing 5-page system prompts for marketing automation, you are doing it wrong. Fork the repo and start from there.
