Monid: OpenRouter, but for the 1,800 APIs Your Agent Wants

Monid took #1 on Product Hunt September 2 with 347 upvotes, and the tagline does the explaining: "OpenRouter for agent tools." One key, 1,800+ APIs — SEO data, lead gen, video generation, market data, on-chain data, sentiment — no separate subscriptions, no per-provider auth. Built by Shengkun Ye and Feiyou Guo.

The part that makes it more than an API reseller: agents discover and select tools at runtime. Instead of a developer hardcoding integrations, the agent browses the catalog mid-task and picks by price, reliability, and performance. Monid handles rate limits and provider management underneath. That's a real bet on how agents will work — tools chosen by the model at execution time, not by the engineer at design time.

We've watched the model-routing gold rush produce seven entrants in two months (latest: https://clauday.com/article/2ae2ce24-762f-482d-a239-7e1a7e5827c6). Monid is the same aggregate-and-route play, one layer up the stack — routing tool calls instead of LLM calls. Same attraction, same risk: aggregators sit in the money flow, and margin-stacking on someone else's APIs only lasts until your biggest customers go direct. Worth watching whether tool-routing develops the same crowded field model-routing did.
