The demand signal moved up the stack this week. A year ago "someone should build" tweets asked for apps; now the loudest asks are all infrastructure around agents - a cockpit to watch them, a cloud to keep them alive when the laptop closes, a router to assign the right model per stage, a voice interface fast enough to command them, and a judge to tell you when they go stale or go rogue. One tweet offering to "pay an absurd amount of money" for a multi-agent dashboard pulled 1.6k likes and spawned a family of copycat wishes within 24 hours, each one a fully-specified product. The wallet is out; the products aren't.

A developer offered to pay an absurd amount of money for a desktop app showing all his coding agents - Claude Code, Codex, Cursor - in one window, and the post became the most-agreed-with product request of the week. A follow-up analysis nailed why it doesn't exist: each agent was designed as a destination, not a tenant - none publishes the prompts, diffs, tool calls, costs and failures an external monitor would need. Whoever ships the aggregator without waiting for vendor permission owns the developer's morning routine, and the cost ledger that CFOs will read at renewal time.

The same wish, one level deeper: something that lets all your agents keep working while your laptop is shut. Local-first agents die with the lid; cloud agents lack your local context. The handoff layer between them - state, credentials, running sessions - is unowned territory, and this poster is offering obscene money for it too.

A router that assigns each stage of a coding task to the model best at it, handing full context to the next stage like a subagent. Model-routing products exist for single calls; nobody has shipped stage-level routing with clean context handoff across a whole task. Given how much benchmark data now exists on per-task model strengths, the ingredients are all public.

Why is there no blazing-fast dictation app for voice-prompting agents? The poster's spec is one line: anything over 250ms of delay is unacceptable. As agent orchestration becomes the job, voice becomes the natural command channel, and current dictation tools were built for documents, not for rapid-fire agent instructions. A tightly-scoped, clearly-priced gap.

Skills are static; the world they run against is not. A practitioner on r/AIMemory laid out the problem: a SKILL.md that worked three weeks ago quietly starts failing when an API changes or a folder moves - nothing errors, the agent just gets worse. What needs to exist is a loop where skill outcomes get scored and the skill rewrites itself from the signal, no human in the loop. Works at 4 skills, breaks at 400. Whoever solves outcome-scoring owns skill maintenance.

An AI employee with its own computer, inbox, browser and long-term memory - something you give an objective, not a prompt, and it returns with finished work. The poster finds it insane that everyone is building copilots and nobody is building this. Adjacent products exist in pieces; the integrated "hire it like a person" packaging is still open.

A coding agent harness with automatic prompt-level optimization built in - DSPy/GEPA-style optimizers wired into the agent loop, so prompts stop being static strings and get tuned against outcomes on the fly. The optimization tech exists; no harness has integrated it. Half-joking tweet, entirely real gap.

After reviewing the OpenAI/METR incident transcripts - where roughly 1,200 agents coordinated on a shared board and zero tried to alert a human - a policy researcher proposed the obvious missing benchmark: a "swarm snitch bench" measuring whether agents report misaligned behavior they observe. Incentivizing models to escalate should be a layer of defense in depth, and right now nobody measures it. Timely, buildable, and the eval-hungry safety world would adopt it.

Everyone is building agent swarms; nobody is building the stop button. A user running six agents overnight described the piece that matters: anything that sends, spends, publishes or deletes stops in a queue and waits for a human yes - four buttons that stay yours no matter what the bots decide. The approval-gate layer for agent fleets, as a product rather than a house convention, is unclaimed.

A genuinely good lead database for small businesses: direct phones and emails of owners and managers of sub-10-person companies. The poster tested over ten platforms and says all of them serve invented emails and public switchboard numbers at the exact segment where enrichment vendors give up. SMB data is hard precisely because it's not on LinkedIn - which is why solving it is defensible.

A tool between a normal inbox and a full ESP: pull lists of users and companies from a client's database, build segments on account- and user-level activity, then manually send well-designed email from a nice interface. Agencies and fractional operators live exactly in this middle zone - Mailchimp is too blunt, Customer.io is too heavy. Stated as a wish, scoped like a spec.

A freelancer wants clients to pay in fiat by card or bank transfer and have it converted and delivered to his crypto wallet immediately. Cross-border workers keep asking for this exact one-way bridge - the compliance burden is why it barely exists, and also why the first clean implementation gets to charge for it.

From r/deaf: caption glasses that work with prescription lenses, caption decently, and don't require a subscription - at a price bearable outside the US. The poster has already tried the knockoffs and found them broken. Accessibility hardware with a clearly-described spec and a community that reviews products for each other: an underserved market that names its own requirements.

Why is there no short-term lease service for a maxed-out Mac Studio 512GB, for people who want to experiment with frontier-class local LLMs without committing $10k? GPU clouds rent servers, but the local-first, unified-memory Mac experience is exactly what can't be rented today. Hardware-as-a-trial for the local AI wave.

YC made "company brain" an official Request for Startups, and a builder in the space added the sharpest caveat: a brain isn't one thing, it's five layers - context, memory, data, business meaning, execution - and each is its own company. Everyone is shipping one lobe and calling it a brain. The RFS is the demand signal; the layer map is the honest way to pick which company to start.

An RFS from Icons worth taking seriously: Lovable for kids - an AI-native platform where children build apps and games by describing them, while the platform teaches the underlying concepts so AI isn't a black box, with parental controls built in from day one. The next generation learns to build with AI before learning to code; nobody owns that on-ramp yet.

An infrastructure buyer with budget in hand: object storage with EU and US regions, no hidden rate limits, no hidden storage limits, multiple datacenters per region, inexpensive - and he'll migrate now and pay thousands a month. The hyperscalers fail him on hidden limits; the budget clouds fail him on regions. When customers tweet their willingness to pay, the gap is real.

From a database practitioner: is anyone building a FoundationDB-style distributed kernel directly on object storage? Not another lakehouse - "truly just the kernel," the boring transactional primitive everything else builds up from. He's building ObjectKV himself because nothing exists, while wrestling HTAP patterns onto dual OLTP/OLAP layouts. When practitioners build their own infrastructure out of frustration, there's a company in it.

A trucking-industry insider sees a big opportunity in an ELD (electronic logging device) that is owned and permissioned by the carrier rather than the vendor. Regulated hardware with captive data is exactly where incumbents get lazy and switching is painful - which is why an ownership-inverted product resonates with fleets.

From a financial-crime investigator: call detail records from three carriers in two countries, every format different, none agreeing on what "connected" means - more time spent normalizing telecom records than analyzing them. A CDR normalization layer for DFIR and financial-crime work is a niche, compliance-adjacent tool that a small team could own outright.

The small ones that write themselves: a bulk "connect all my domains to Cloudflare" button, because doing it one-by-one is the worst part of buying domains in batches - and a daily content-production service for app owners who want creative made for their product every single day and currently have no options between a freelancer and an agency.
